Hemp Extract for Women's Health

Hemp extract (CBD) has become increasingly popular among women, and for good reason, too. Hemp extract can be used to help ease symptoms of several issues that disproportionately affect women, such as anxiety and inflammation. Read on to hear about gender differences in anxiety and inflammation and how hemp extract (CBD) can help!

Gender Differences in Anxiety and Inflammation

Anxiety in women - O2 Living blog - by makers of O2 Living full spectrum hemp extract products on AmazonAnxiety is one of the most common mental disorders, affecting 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. Women, however, consistently have higher prevalence rates of anxiety disorders than men. Additionally, throughout life, women are significantly more likely to develop an anxiety disorder than men [1].  Current treatments for anxiety disorders include different types of therapies and/or anti-anxiety drugs. These drugs, either selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) or benzodiazepines, also known as tranquilizers, may be addictive and sometimes expensive.

Rheumatoid arthritis, an inflammatory and autoimmune disorder, causes the body's immune system to wrongly attack healthy cells, which in turn produces inflammation and painful swelling. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA), like anxiety, affects women at higher rates than men. In fact, new cases of RA are two-to-three times higher in women than in men [2]. Additionally, research has shown that women who have never given birth are at an increased risk of developing RA.

Hemp Extract (CBD) for Anxiety and Inflammation

Woman in front of yellow background - O2 Living Hemp Extract blog - women, anxiety, inflammation and CBDHemp extract (CBD) has become increasingly popular for both anxiety and inflammation.  Individual reports of CBD for relieving stress have grown exponentially in recent years, and studies have sought to find the specific pathways on which CBD works to alleviate the physical and mental symptoms of stress and anxiety. A study conducted on mice found that physical and mental symptoms of stress could be reduced by augmenting the endocannabinoid system, on which hemp extract works. You can learn more about stress, anxiety and how CBD specifically works to help reduce symptoms in our blog here. If you're interested in trying our Living Hemp Extract oils to possibly help alleviate some of your stress, you can find our full spectrum, organic CBD oils and other hemp extract products on Amazon

For inflammation, hemp extract (CBD) is known well for its ability to activate the endocannabinoid receptors in the body, which in turn reduce inflammation and painful swelling. While the exact pathways through which hemp extract relieves inflammation and pain are still being studied, there is growing evidence for the use of hemp extract to reduce inflammation and pain associated with inflammation. For areas with inflammation and pain, you may want to try our Living Hemp Extract Muscle Mist. You can read more about the particular benefits of our Living Hemp Extract Muscle Mist here
